Akshay Misir, a licensed physiotherapist in Markham, is a dedicated physiotherapist who has graduated with a Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in 2021, and completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University.
He was born and raised in Markham, ON and grew up playing many sports throughout his childhood and adolescent years, most notably competitive basketball for 7 years. His passion for physiotherapy stems from his active lifestyle, as he believes that movement health is an integral part of rehabilitation.
Akshay has a long standing history at Runway Health from starting as a volunteer in 2020, to completing his education, and returning to work as a physiotherapist in the environment he belongs in.
He believes in physical therapy as an effective intervention for improving one’s physical function and overall quality of life. He has treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions through various in-patient and out-patient clinic settings. His treatment approach is patient-centred and hands-on, consisting of a variety of manual therapy techniques, acupuncture/dry needling, exercise prescription, and education to help empower his patients through their recovery journey.
