What Exactly Is A Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists are health care professionals who specialize in the treatment of non-invasive and non-surgical musculoskeletal and orthopaedic injuries. They help assess dysfunction and injury and then come up with treatment plans to help get you back to optimal health.

Each and every physiotherapist practising in Ontario must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. In order to be able to practice in Ontario, practitioners must complete a four-year undergraduate program and then complete a Master’s degree in physiotherapy.

After completing this extensive education, physiotherapists must complete all mandatory board exams to attain their full license to be able to practice in Ontario.
