What Makes Our Physio Unique?

We at Runway Health pride ourselves on taking a unique patient-centred approach to physiotherapy. We believe each patient and their specific case deserves full attention and expertise. That’s why we only provide one-on-one physiotherapy sessions.

Our treatments always take place in confidential and private therapy rooms. We also believe in a hands-on manual approach to our physiotherapy sessions with a focus on soft tissue muscle release.

Our physiotherapists strategically work in conjunction with our chiropractors and massage therapists when needed. Our team is trained in utilizing various specialized treatment options which include: exercise prescription, soft tissue therapy, electrotherapy, laser therapy, spinal decompression, and more.

We will formulate a treatment protocol with a variation of these specialized techniques to help you recover from your injuries quicker and will help institute measures to prevent the injury from reoccurring.

What Exactly Is A Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists are health care professionals who specialize in the treatment of non-invasive and non-surgical musculoskeletal and orthopaedic injuries. They help assess dysfunction and injury and then come up with treatment plans to help get you back to optimal health.

Each and every physiotherapist practising in Ontario must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. In order to be able to practice in Ontario, practitioners must complete a four-year undergraduate program and then complete a Master’s degree in physiotherapy.

After completing this extensive education, physiotherapists must complete all mandatory board exams to attain their full license to be able to practice in Ontario.

What To Expect During Treatment

Watch the following video to understand how a typical physio treatment is performed. This specific example is for a patient who is suffering with knee pain.

You’ll be able to tell how comfortable and hands-on the treatment sessions are. Obviously not each treatment is identical as it is customized to your symptoms and exact condition.

Treatment sessions typically include soft tissue therapy, active manual muscle release, stretching, mobilizations, and exercise prescription.
